Let us declare and establish our Identity in Christ according to:

Rom 8:38 ‘For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ (NKJV)

I have no doubt and am fully persuaded that God loves me! Jesus also loves me and nothing can separate me from this wonderful everlasting love. Not even my sin.

Kom ons verklaar en bevestig ons ID in Christus volgens:

Rom 8:37 ‘Maar in al hierdie dinge is ons meer as oorwinnaars deur Hom wat vir ons liefhet.’ (ANV)

Ons is oorwinnaars as gevolg van Jesus se liefde vir ons! Dankie Jesus, deur U is ons wenners!

Rom 8:37 ‘Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.’ (NKJV)

Jesus’ love makes us conquerors. Thank You Jesus, we are victorious through Your love!

Amidst Covid and ‘lockdown’ and numerous warnings, messages and news reports, we need to be vigilant about what we allow into our minds so that we do not become frustrated, discouraged and/or depressed.

There is an excess of information and most of the information is not the full truth, it is exaggerated, or fictional and causes distress, uncertainty, worry, fear and panic. We do not have to read every message and news story.

We must learn to discern what is needed and what we should throw away or disregard. The question is how do you do that, how do you know?

God’s Word says:

2Co 10:4-5‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,‘ (NKJV)

Our mind is the battlefield where the enemy wants to overwhelm and sow confusion.

How do we deal with it, how do we oppose it?

You have a choice, what to allow in your mind!

If it makes you feel uneasy, worried, insecure or confused, decide to replace that thought with the truth – God’s Truth – God’s Word.

Stop wrong thoughts, capture thoughts – be the police officer in your mind and say out loud ‘No it’s wrong’ and immediately replace it with positive thoughts based on God’s Word.

Do not let your mind run wild with fearful thoughts. Most of the time nothing comes of such thoughts, and we worry unnecessarily about something that does not come to reality at all.

Here is some scripture to replace wrong thinking with:

Rom 8:31b‘….. If God is for us, who can be against us?‘ KJV)

Psa 23:1 ‘A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.‘ (NKJV)

Psa 23:6 ‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.‘ (NKJV)

2Ti 1:7 ‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.‘ (NKJV)

Heb 13:5b ‘ …. For He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.”‘ (NKJV)

Psa 118:17 ‘ I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD.‘ (NKJV)

Php 4:6-8 ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.‘ (NKJV)

Ask God and Holy Spirit to guide you to learn what is right.

If your relationship is not yet such that you always immediately hear what God is saying, ignore all messages and news stories and just read the Bible.

Worries make nothing better.

Rather declare the Word over you and your loved ones and be thankful in all circumstances.

There is always something to be thankful for, praise and glorify God for provision and protection.

God is faithful and love.

1Jn 4:18 ‘There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.‘ (NKJV)

2Ti 1:7 ‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.‘ (NKJV)

Heb 12:1-2 ‘ Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.’ (NKJV)

Te midde van Covid en ‘lockdown’ en talle waarskuwings, boodskappe en nuusberigte moet ons waak oor wat ons toe laat in ons gedagtes, sodat ons nie gefrustreed, moedeloos en/of depresief raak nie.

Daar is ‘n oormaat van inligting en meeste van die inligting is nie die volle waarheid nie, dis aangedik, of totaal fiktief en veroorsaak benoudheid, onsekerheid, bekommernis, vrees en paniek. Ons hoef nie elke boodskap en nuusberig te lees nie.

Ons moet leer om te onderskei wat is nodig en wat moet ons weggooi. Nou is die vraag hoe doen mens dit, hoe weet jy?

God se Woord sê:

2Kor 10:4-5 Die wapens van ons stryd is nie die wapens van die mens nie, maar die kragtige wapens van God wat vestings kan vernietig. Daarmee vernietig ons die redenasies 5 en elke hooghartige aanval wat teen die kennis van God gerig word. Ons neem elke gedagte gevange om dit aan Christus gehoorsaam te maak. (ANV)

Ons gedagtes is die oorlogsfront, dit is waar die vyand wil oorweldig en verwarring saai.

Hoe hanteer ons dit, hoe staan ons dit teë?

Jy het ‘n keuse wat jy in jou gedagtes toelaat!

As dit jou onrustig, bekommered, onseker of verward laat voel, neem ‘n besluit om daai gedagte te vervang met die waarheid – God se Waarheid – God se Woord.

Stop verkeerde gedagtes, neem gedagtes gevange – wees die polisiebeampte in jou gedagtes en sê hardop ‘Nee dis verkeerd’ en vervang dit onmiddelik met positiewe gedagtes wat op God se Woord gebaseer is.

Moet nie toelaat dat jou gedagtes oploop sit met vreesagtige gedagtes nie – moet nie die bobbejaan agter die berg loop haal nie. Meeste van die tyd kom daar niks van sulke gedagtes nie, en het ons onnodig bekommer oor iets wat glad nie tot werklikheid kom nie.

Hier is ‘n paar skrifgedeeltes om verkeerde gedagtes mee te vervang:

Rom 8:31b ‘…God is vír ons, wie kan dan teen ons wees?’ (ANV)

Psa 23:1 ‘ ‘n Psalm van Dawid. Die Here is my herder, ek kom niks kort nie.’ (ANV)

Psa 23:6 ‘ Net goedheid en guns sal my volg al die dae van my lewe; en ek sal in die huis van die HERE bly in lengte van dae. ‘ (AOV)

2Ti 1:7 ‘Want God het ons nie ‘n gees van vreesagtigheid (lafhartigheid ANV) gegee nie, maar van krag en liefde en selfbeheersing. ‘(AOV)

Heb 13:5b … God self het gesê: “Ek sal jou nooit verlaat nie, jou nooit in die steek laat nie.”(ANV)

Pilp 4:6-8 ‘ Moet oor niks besorg wees nie, maar maak in alles julle begeertes deur gebed en smeking en met danksegging aan God bekend. 7 En die vrede van God wat alle verstand te bowe gaan, sal oor julle harte en gedagtes die wag hou in Christus Jesus. 8 Verder, broers, alles wat waar is, alles wat edel is, alles wat reg is, alles wat rein is, alles wat mooi is, alles wat prysenswaardig is – watter deug of lofwaardige saak daar ook mag wees – daarop moet julle julle gedagtes rig.‘ (ANV)

Vra God en Heilige Gees om jou te lei om te leer wat reg is.

As jou verhouding nog nie so is dat jy altyd dadelik hoor wat God sê nie, ignoreer alle boodskappe en nuusberigte en lees net die Bybel.

Bekommernis (worries) maak niks beter nie.

Verklaar eerder die Woord oor jou en jou geliefdes en wees dankbaar in alle omstandighede.

Daar is altyd iets om voor dankbaar te wees, loof en prys God vir voorsiening en beskerming.

God is getrou en is liefde.

1Jn 4:18 ‘Waar liefde is, is daar geen vrees nie, maar volmaakte liefde verdryf vrees, want vrees verwag straf, en wie nog vrees, het nie volmaakte liefde nie.’ (ANV)

2Ti 1:7 ‘Want God het ons nie ‘n gees van vreesagtigheid (lafhartigheid ANV) gegee nie, maar van krag en liefde en selfbeheersing. ‘(AOV)

Heb 12:1-2 ‘Terwyl ons dan so ‘n groot skare geloofsgetuies rondom ons het, laat ons elke las van ons afgooi, ook die sonde wat ons so maklik verstrik, en laat ons die wedloop wat vir ons voorlê, met volharding hardloop, 2 die oog gevestig op Jesus, die Begin en Voleinder van die geloof. Ter wille van die vreugde wat vir Hom in die vooruitsig was, het Hy die kruis verduur sonder om vir die skande daarvan terug te deins, en Hy sit nou aan die regterkant van die troon van God.’ (ANV)

Kom ons verklaar en bevestig ons ID in Christus volgens:

Rom 8:32 ‘Hy wat selfs sy eie Seun nie gespaar het nie, maar Hom vir ons almal oorgegee het, hoe sal Hy nie saam met Hom ons ook alles genadiglik skenk nie?’ (AOV)

Ek het alles gekry wat God het! Dankie Vader, vir U genade en dat U tot U Seun nie van ons weerhou het nie.

Rom 8:32 ‘He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?’ (NKJV)

I received all things God has! Thank you, Father, for your grace and that You even gave us your Son.

Rom8:26 ‘Die Gees van God help ons ook nog boonop in ons onbeholpenheid. Ons weet immers nie mooi wat en hoe ons moet bid nie. Maar die Gees self neem ons gebedsbehoeftes voor God op met versugtinge wat nie in menslike taal verwoord kan word nie.’ (NLV)

Ek het Heilige Gees in my, wat my help en by God vir my intree. Wat ‘n wonderlike seën en voorreg!

Rom 8:26 ‘Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.’ (NKJV)

I have Holy Spirit in me, who helps me and intercede on my behalf. What a wonderful blessing and privilege!

I am saved from the sin-nature because Jesus became man to redeem me. I am grateful and blessed!
